Delivery Policy

Where physical tickets such as Castle Player tickets are issued, they will be despatched at least seven days prior to the event. Tickets for certain other events hosted by The Bowes Museum will be emailed only, with customers invited to print off the ticket prior to your event or show them on your smart phone on arrival.

Refund and Cancellation

Event Cancellation Policy

Cancellation by us

The Bowes Museum reserves the right to modify the programme of any event up to the day of the event.
If unforeseen circumstances cause The Bowes Museum to cancel an event, we shall inform you as soon as possible and offer you a refund.

Cancellation by you

  • 6 weeks or more prior to the event - 100% refund.
  • 4 - 6 weeks prior to the event - 50% refund.
  • 0 - 4 weeks prior to the event - no refund.

Please note that if you have to cancel your place at one Museum event, it is impossible for The Bowes Museum to transfer your registration to another Museum event.

No Charge Events

All events are costly to set up, even those which are 'no charge'. If you book but find you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible. We often hold waiting lists, and someone else could attend in your place.

This policy applies unless an event has a special cancellation policy. All cancellations must be made in writing via email to for an event

By registering to attend an event, you have confirmed that you have read and understood our cancellation policy.


How this site makes use of browser cookies:
